Exam format

The exam is scheduled for Wed. Dec. 12, 2pm, in HH239. I have scheduled three hours but you likely won’t need all that time.
It is not fully written yet but the format should be approximately as follows, give or take:

  • short answer questions (multiple choice and/or identifications)
  • definitions
  • short essay questions
  • long essay question
  • sight passage

There will be choices for most of the questions.

You may bring in one sheet of paper, 8½ x 11 inches, printed or written on one side.

If any of you prepared sample questions for class today, you could post them here in the comments. Who knows? I might use one of them … (if I do, two bonus marks on the exam to the person or people whose questions are used).

Review class today canceled

due to the weather.

I will be posting the class notes to the schedule today.

If you have any questions or concerns about the exam, drop me a line here on the blog in a comment, or via email.

I will a notice here on the blog when the assignments are marked.

It’s a shame that we are missing our final meeting. I have enjoyed the class immensely; you are a great group and lots of fun to teach. I hope I see some of you in future classes.

Here is an example

of a student assignment from last year on the Beowulf option. It is an extremely good one and got a top mark, so don’t let it be intimidating. But it gives you an idea of the format, some possibilities, etc.
